Reug Reug Arrested With Crates of Alleged Fake Dollar Notes in Dakar

Senegalese wrestling and MMA star Oumar Kane, popularly known as “Reug Reug,” was arrested in Dakar on Thursday after gendarmes investigating an alleged counterfeit money operation reportedly caught him with crates of so-called “black money” notes in his vehicle.

According to Senegalese media citing the investigation, undercover officers had been tracking the operation before Reug Reug allegedly arrived with the notes, which were purportedly intended to be chemically treated to reveal what appeared to be genuine $100 bills.

Four other suspects were arrested, while another batch of the notes was reportedly found at the home of one of them.

Reug Reug remains in custody as investigators pursue allegations including criminal conspiracy, counterfeiting and attempted bribery, with additional arrests possible as the investigation continues.
