EXCLUSIVE: Bitcoin Tower Investigation Part 8: Another Victim Comes Forward as The Fatu Network Examines Decades of GTBoard Decisions That Moved Already Allocated Tourism Properties Into Another Man’s Name

A Gambian businessman has come to The Fatu Network after seeing Austrian investors Manuel and Angelika Mitterer, the foreign investors behind Bitcoin Tower, face what he believes is the same ordeal he experienced in The Gambia decades ago.

He says both cases – his own and The Fatu Network’s Bitcoin Tower investigation – involve local businessman Ebrima Solomon Tamba and allegations that tourism properties originally allocated to other people were later recognized as belonging to Tamba without any explanation, sale or transfer from those who originally held the rights to them.

Momodou Camara has produced allocation papers, leases, court records and other documents indicating that Kunta Kinteh Beach Bar and Jufureh Beach Bar, originally allocated to him, were later recognized in Tamba’s name.

“I was able to achieve the return of Jufureh Beach Bar to me in 2015 through a High Court ruling,” Camara said. “However, after a year, GTBoard decided that the lease of the beach bar should go back to Mr Tamba, apparently because the court ruling had not been properly delivered.”

“I have no idea how GTBoard can overturn a court ruling,” he added.

The dispute spans multiple tourism administrations, including the tenure of former Tourism Minister Hamat Bah, and now raises questions for GTBoard Director General Ida Jeng Njie and Tourism Minister Abdoulie Jobe. Who authorized the changes? What records support them? And how did they happen?
