After leaving Senegal in October 2024 and spending months without a role, Aliou Cissé was appointed Libya coach in March 2025, a short-lived stint that has now ended after Libya failed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
As Senegal’s long-serving coach, Cissé led the team to their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations title, winning the 2021 tournament in February 2022, and guided them to the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, establishing himself as one of the most successful managers in the country’s history.
