Touba Student at Centre of Alleged Same-Sex Exploitation Network

A 16-year-old boy’s testimony has shed new light on the case involving Abdoulaye Faye, the marabout known as the “Mara milliardaire” (billionaire marabout), who was recently arrested in The Gambia after fleeing Senegal over alleged links to a same-sex exploitation network.

According to Senegal’s criminal investigations division, the case began in Touba when the boy’s father discovered explicit videos and messages on his phone, prompting police involvement and exposing an alleged high-end prostitution ring.

The teenager, a Touba-based student, told investigators he had been introduced to wealthy clients in 2024, including Faye, who allegedly picked him up at night, paid him large sums, and gave him gifts.

Authorities say 15 people are being prosecuted for conspiracy, paedophilia, repeated sexual assault of a minor, acts against nature, and the intentional transmission of HIV.
