A football team from Gadiaga, a community in eastern Senegal, was involved in a deadly road accident over the weekend while returning from a match in Kaolack, when their vehicle crashed into a parked truck along a major highway.
Local reports identify the team as ASC Gadiaga of Bakel, with 10 people taken to hospital and the team’s goalkeeper, Fallou Dieye, confirmed dead, as emergency services responded and authorities opened an investigation.
