UDP Reacts to Viral Video of Immigration Officers Restraining NDP Leader

The United Democratic Party has condemned what it described as the excessive use of force by the Gambia Immigration Department against Kebba Madi Bojang after a video circulated online showing officers restraining him.

The incident occurred during an operation linked to the detention of one of Bojang’s associates, who was reportedly being questioned over the source of the NDP’s campaign vehicles and motorbikes.

In a statement, the UDP said it “unequivocally condemns the apparent excessive use of force” and urged security forces to remain politically neutral and uphold constitutional rights as the country heads toward the 2026 presidential election.
