Kartong Celebrates Outstanding Nine Credit WASSCE Performance

Aminata Touray has given Kartong another reason to celebrate after an outstanding performance in the 2026 WASSCE, earning credits in all nine subjects, including four A1s in Civic Education, English Language, Commerce and Agricultural Science.

A student of St. Martin’s Senior Secondary School in Kartong, Aminata is part of the school’s first graduating batch, making her success even more significant for the young institution and the community.

The Support Our Own Gambian Foundation, which brought attention to her achievement, described the students’ success as “a proud moment for St. Martin’s Senior Secondary School and the entire village of Kartong.”

It said the first graduating batch had shown the school’s potential to become “an academic giant and a source of pride for Kartong.”

For Kartong, Aminata’s nine credits are more than an impressive individual result. They are a promising start for a school graduating students for the first time and a proud moment for a village watching one of its young students excel.
