Team Kaba has formally endorsed Colonel Musa M.B. Jammeh — known as “Falcon” — as its candidate for the Gambia Football Federation presidency ahead of the August 2026 elective congress.
The group says the decision follows “extensive and transparent consultations” with members and key football stakeholders after long‑serving president Lamin Kaba Bajo announced he will step down at the end of his mandate.
“President Bajo leaves behind an incredible legacy and a strong foundation for the future of Gambian football,” the statement says.
Two candidates had expressed interest — Musa Jammeh and administrator Kemo Ceesay — but Team Kaba says internal talks failed to produce a consensus, and it therefore chose Jammeh to preserve stability and continuity.
“In the interest of the Team, and to consolidate the remarkable gains made in our football over the last decade, we have determined that Musa Jammeh is the best candidate for the position at this moment to maintain our upward trajectory on the international and local stages,” the group added.
Team Kaba has urged members, supporters and the wider football community to unite behind Jammeh ahead of the vote. “Now is the time to unify our strengths and set our sights on the future of Gambian football,” the statement concludes.
