The United Movement for Change campaign manager MC Cham Jr. has challenged the National People’s Party to account for unfulfilled promises before asking Gambians for renewed trust.
Cham accused the government of failing on key commitments including reliable electricity and water, improved healthcare, support for farmers, constitutional reform, and economic relief, and criticised the absence of a FIFA‑standard national stadium as “a national embarrassment and another example of poor planning and misplaced priorities.”
“A government that has failed to deliver on its existing promises cannot expect the public to be impressed by another glossy document filled with carefully chosen words,” Cham said. “The country does not need another blueprint. It needs honest answers, responsible leadership and visible results.”
He warned the NPP manifesto risked being “another political scam designed to distract the public from years of disappointment,” and urged President Adama Barrow to explain why voters should trust new pledges.
“A government that cannot fulfil yesterday’s promises has no moral authority to demand trust in tomorrow’s promises,” Cham added.
