The opposition Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) has pledged to deliver ten major reforms within its first 100 days in office if it wins the presidential election on 5 December.
Party leader Mamma Kandeh said the plan is aimed at building “a nation that serves everyone, not just a select few.” He vowed to pursue the measures immediately if elected, adding: “Once entrusted with the leadership of The Gambia in 2026, I will fulfill this commitment to the people through action, accountability, and service.”
“The challenges ahead will be significant, but our initial 100 days in office will establish the groundwork for a stronger, fairer, and more prosperous future for all Gambians,” the statement said.
The GDC said its 100‑day programme would include: a review of all current government contracts and agreements; restoration of national security sovereignty; a comprehensive national budget review; mandatory asset declarations for senior officials; public service reforms to tackle corruption and bribery; new rules on lobbying and influence peddling; legal and constitutional political reforms; enhanced border security and a declared border security emergency; anti‑tribalism and national unity legislation; and an economic recovery and growth programme.
The party said it would work “diligently to achieve these objectives within just 100 days in office if granted the mandate to lead Gambia.”
