Bronze Glory: Gambian Judoka Faye Njie Wins Commonwealth Championship Medal

Gambian judoka Faye Njie has won a bronze medal at the ongoing Commonwealth Judo Championships in Glasgow, United Kingdom, adding another international achievement to his distinguished career.

Competing in the men’s 73kg category, Njie finished third in a highly competitive field of 17 athletes from 15 countries.

Speaking to The Fatu Network after his podium finish, Njie expressed pride in representing The Gambia on the international stage.

“I finished third in the 73kg category at the Commonwealth Championships,” he said.

He added that the championship brought together 174 judokas from 45 Commonwealth countries, underlining the high standard of competition.

Njie, who has represented The Gambia at several major international tournaments, including the Olympic Games, continues to be one of the country’s leading martial artists. His latest medal is another significant achievement for Gambian judo and is expected to inspire young athletes aspiring to compete at the highest level.
