A 23-year-old Gambian, Masanneh Jarjue of Foni Kanuma in the Foni Bintang Karanai District, is urgently seeking medical assistance as he battles a worsening health condition that has not responded to treatment locally.
Masanneh has been unwell since 2022 and has sought treatment at several health facilities across the country without significant improvement. He is currently receiving care at Bwiam General Hospital, where he continues regular appointments and medication under close medical supervision.
Diagnosed with diabetes, his condition has recently deteriorated following the onset of severe diarrhoea, leaving him physically weakened. The complications have also led to painful skin conditions around his private area, increasing his discomfort and raising concerns about his overall health.
Family members say his prolonged illness has already disrupted his life, forcing him to stop his education in Grade 8. With his condition becoming increasingly serious, they believe his best chance of recovery now lies in accessing advanced medical treatment outside The Gambia.
However, the cost of overseas treatment is far beyond the family’s means, prompting an appeal to the general public for support.
“This is a difficult moment for the family. We are appealing to anyone who can help in any way to support Masanneh get the treatment he urgently needs,” a family representative said.
Members of the public willing to assist can contact:

As the family continues to search for hope, every contribution is seen as a step closer to giving Masanneh a fighting chance at recovery.
