Gambians Join Nearly 2 Million Muslims Preparing for Hajj 2026

Nearly two million Muslims are expected in Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage, with thousands of pilgrims already arriving in Makkah and Madinah ahead of the official start of the Hajj rites on May 25th.

Gambian pilgrims have also started travelling in batches from Banjul as preparations intensify for one of the world’s largest religious gatherings ahead of Eid al-Adha.
