The Gambia Action Party (GAP) has dismissed speculation about forming political alliances, insisting it remains independent ahead of the upcoming elections.
In a statement, the party said: “The party has not entered into any agreement, alliance, or coalition with any political party or group,” urging supporters to ignore circulating rumours.
It clarified that while the Deputy Party Leader attended a recent meeting with other groups, no commitments were made. Following internal consultations, GAP confirmed its decision to maintain independence and reaffirmed Musa Ousainou Yali Batchilly as its presidential candidate.
“We urge all supporters and the general public to disregard any misinformation suggesting otherwise and remain steadfast in their support for the party and its candidate,” the statement added.
The party concluded by reiterating its commitment to advancing policies focused on national development and the welfare of all Gambians.
