Coalition 2026 has sealed its political alliance, with eight political parties and movements signing the Political Alliance Agreement at Pencha Mi Hall on Thursday and formally backing Talib Ahmed Bensouda for The Gambia’s presidential election on December 5th.

The alliance brings together the People’s Right Party (PRP), FORWARD Gambia, National Reform Congress (NRC), PASTEF Gambia, Gambia Movement for Progress, Defending the Gambian Interest, UNITE Party and Save The Gambia.
The signing gives the original Coalition 2026 process a firm political structure following the UDP’s departure and subsequent formation of a separate alliance behind Ousainou Darboe.
With the opposition now divided between two major coalition camps, Bensouda heads into the election backed by eight organisations that have formally committed to contesting under one political alliance.
