Magistrate Isatou Jallow of the Brusubi Magistrates’ Court has been named TFN Person of the Year 2026, one of the highest honours presented at the sixth edition of The Fatu Network (TFN) Heroes Awards.

The award recognises individuals whose dedication to service has had a marked impact on national life. Magistrate Jallow accepted the accolade with humility, thanking the organisers and those who supported her work.

“Honestly, I feel honoured to be selected among the many hardworking and deserving people out there,” she said. “This award is a reminder that there is no greater reward in life than serving humanity.”

Jallow paid tribute to her colleagues at the Brusubi Magistrates’ Court, stressing that the recognition reflected a collective effort.

“While I am the one being recognised, I have an incredible team that works tirelessly alongside me. Without them, this would not have been possible. I thank the entire Brusubi Magistrates’ Court team for their unwavering support and commitment.”

She also expressed gratitude to her family for their encouragement and dedicated the award to mothers of children with autism, offering a message of hope.

“This award is dedicated to all autism mothers. It’s okay to be different, but being different should never stop you from pursuing your dreams.”

Organisers said the TFN Heroes Awards spotlight individuals whose work transforms communities and inspires others. Magistrate Jallow’s selection as Person of the Year underscores her contribution to the justice system and to vulnerable groups, according to the ceremony’s citation.

The TFN Heroes Awards, now in its sixth year, honours achievements across a broad range of fields, recognising public servants, community leaders, organisations and cultural contributors for notable service and impact.
