Thieves have broken into the car of Gambian TikTok star Ousman Joof, known as Network, and stolen media equipment valued at more than D150,000.
Joof, Gambia’s most‑followed TikTok creator with over two million followers, says the incident happened in Kotu after he parked outside his compound. “The thieves smashed my car and took all our gadgets,” he told The Fatu Network.
He expressed his devastation: “I can’t do this anymore. This is heartbreaking. Some of these gadgets are quite expensive and not available in Gambia.”
Joof explained that the stolen items were essential to his comedy career. “I acquired all these high‑quality gadgets to ensure we produce quality videos for our audience. The items are valued at over a hundred and fifty thousand dalasis (150,000).”
He said he had just finished filming content before parking his car, when the thieves broke the window and fled with the equipment. Among the missing items are unique battery lights ordered specially from abroad. “Especially my battery lights; they are very costly and not available here,” he added.
Network is now appealing for public help to recover or replace the stolen gadgets, stressing that the theft could impact his ability to continue producing content.
