Guinea-Bissau Media Minister Begins Working Visit to The Gambia

Guinea-Bissau’s Minister of Social Communication, Abduramane Turé, has commenced a working visit to The Gambia aimed at advancing cooperation between the two countries in the media and communication sector.

The visit brings together officials from both nations to review progress made under a bilateral cooperation framework signed last year and to explore new opportunities for collaboration in broadcasting, information sharing, media development and institutional modernization.

On Tuesday, Minister Turé held talks with The Gambia’s Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services, Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, as the two sides assessed existing areas of partnership and discussed priorities for future cooperation.

The engagement builds on growing efforts by Banjul and Bissau to strengthen ties through closer collaboration between their media institutions, including the exchange of expertise, content and technical support. Previous discussions between the two countries emphasized the importance of communication in promoting regional integration, cultural understanding and stronger people-to-people relations.

Minister Turé’s programme also includes meetings with senior Gambian officials during what is expected to further reinforce the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two neighbouring West African nations.
